Joey Nocchi of Paso Robles and his two buddies launched their kayaks from Leffingwell Landing in Cambria, Saturday, and paddled north. After a successful fishing trip, they were making their way back to shore... when it happened.
The tragic news just in that a 20 year-old bodyboarder, David Lilienfeld, suffered fatal injuries after being attacked by a Great White Shark while surfing at the ‘Caves’ at Kogel Bay beach on the Eastern side of False Bay, has led to an outcry from local and international shark experts and ocean users.
National Geographic is filming its reality show “Shark-Men” with the assistance of researchers off Seal Island between the 10th – 30th April 2012. A permit to operate in the bay has been provided by Dr. Alan Boyd, Director of Biodiversity and Coastal Research – Environmental Affairs, without consultation of the local community.

Probably because sometime around 12:45pm on Tuesday, what is believed to have been a 10-foot tiger shark bit down on the left foot of Joshua Holley, a 28-year-old surfer from Waialua who had been enjoying a murky solo session on the North Shore of Oahu.
