Punxsutawney Phil is full of sh*t--Spring has arrived at SFOB. 1.5x but textured, unorganized, & misshapen. Fun w/low standards, though.

Glassy, slight offshores, & 6'@15s swell normally elicits woohoo's, but something was off. Too right place/right time. Way outer bar would throw on occasion, crumble at other times. Infrequent, but just frequent enough to keep me, for much of the session, smack dab inbetween it & in the inner bar. Some beautiful waves seemed to break off in the distance, both S & N of me, but it rarely lined up. Caught a few, still stoked, but a bit of a frustrating day. I'm guessing someone out there is really stoked b/c they successfully lined a bunch up.

After a 40 min paddle at SFOB, longest of the season, found head high glassy but windswelly peaks held up by offshore winds. Fun & chaotic.

Clear skies, big moon, & small, fun playful surf this morn at SFOB. Nice adrenaline rejuvenation session on the fish.

Morning sick at SFOB. 1.5x, powerful, glassy, & offshore, but warbly. Fun if you can line up a shifty non-closed out peak.

$101 tickets, literally zero coverage where they aren't making snow, and icy conditions where they are. Pretty terrible conditions, but at least the runs were uncrowded. The Village was another matter. Jammed with people not skiing.

On a side note, not sure what they've spent $30M on at Northstar... Same crappy beads & candle stores in the Village. They dropped another lift on the Backside, but that just means they tore out some great tree skiing. Oh, and they added another bar/restaurant mid-mountain. Generic Asian/Mexican/American fare.
