Guys, Thanks for all your input. I've posted a new set of community guidelines. These are now always available from the "don't" menu at the top of the page for logged-in users.

I've also trimmed down the location list to a set that there seems to be very broad agreement on.

Folks, i'd like to define a set of community standard for StokeReport.com ASAP. Perpaps we can have a discussion around the standards for the rest of the weekend and then start enforcing them next week i.e. ban anyone that doesn't follow them.

I've noticed that people post quite a lot of video links in comments. I've added a new feature which automagically embeds the video directly in the comment when you do this. It supports about 150 different sites, including all the major ones. Please give it a try by commenting on this rant, and let me know what you think.

Stokies. I'm trying out a new front page feature, the "Most Discussed" block. You can see it on the right hand side of the front page if you scroll down a bit. The idea was to allow us to dial into the most interesting discussions, especially after a few days away. The block shows the most commented reports or rants in the last week or so.

guys, a couple of years ago i had an idea for a site where people could share their love for surfing, by exchanging reports and articles. i created stokereport.com with a tagline of "share the love"

i wanted a site that was biased toward the positive, since so much of our daily interaction with each other, especially in the water, is biased the other way.
