Rant - New Feature: Comment Voting

StokeReporters, we've just added a new feature. Comment voting. The main motivation for this is to allow you to vote down the troll comments that we see from time to time on StokeReport. The voting gets factored into a karma algoritm that limits the troll's ability to continue to comment on the site.

"Awesome. So if your karma drops too low, you can't contribute? that's pretty cool."

Rant - New Feature - The OB Cam

You may have noticed that we're testing a new feature on the Ocean beach page: A new high resolution picture of the ###### of Ocean Beach that updates every minute during daylight hours. Take a look and let us know what you think.

Rant - NOAA SF Buoy Down

It looks like this storm has taken the NOAA SF Buoy out of action. Thankfully we switched to CDIP for all our main page graphs and information, but you may notice wonky looking wind graphs on the ocean beach page.

Rant - Wind Sensor Down

The coastal wind sensor is currently down, hence the "?" in the overview panel. Hopefully it will be back online soon.

Rant - CDIP 142

We've changed the buoy information that is featured on the front page graph. It used to show the NOAA Station 46026 located 18 miles west of San Francisco. It now shows data from the CDIP 142 buoy, located approximately 4 miles southwest of the Pt. Bonita lighthouse.

The data should be better. Let us know what you think. We've also cleaned up the swell prediction algorithms that show the two day prediction on the graph. It should be much more accurate now.
