A pleasurable time in Santa Cruz this morning. 3-4ft glassy peaks, pretty consistent. Crowded as usual, but nobody doing anything stupid. Get some!

Rant - Balaram Stack talkin' about the Quiksilver Pro New York [video]

One of New York's top surfers talks about the upcoming contest in NYC. Also, a couple of pics of my own from that day a couple of years ago at Lido Beach with a solid hurricane swell. Yes, it gets like that a few times every year. Let's hope they get conditions like this for the contest...

Rant - Quiksilver Announces The Quiksilver Pro New York

Quiksilver and the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) today announced The Quiksilver Pro New York, set to take place on Long Beach, New York from September 4-15. The Quiksilver Pro New York will be the 6th stop on the ASP 2011 World Tour and the first-ever ASP World Title Race stop on the east coast of the United States.

Saturday 2pm - Steamer Lane, good surfing

Pleasure Point, actually. Fun and consistent. Surfed high tide before all the frothers got on it. You missed it bro!
