Rant - FlowRider opening near Sacramento

Located next to Pins N Strikes bowling alley, the new entertainment center features indoor surfing, paintball and trampolines.

The main attraction, the FlowRider machine, lets customers ride jets of water streaming at over 20 miles per hour. A similar business, Dream Xtreme, closed down in the same location in 2010.

Saturday 9pm - Bolinas, fair surfing

Smaller than had been hoped, even with the incoming tide. I went out around 6:00, after the rental-board crowd had gone in. Still the usual menagerie out there, but I had fun.

$325.00 - Sweet 6'8" funboard for sale

I have a beautiful 6'8" funboard surfboard I'd like to sell. It was shaped by Murray Ross, a well-regarded shaper from the Outer Banks/Hatteras of North Carolina. I bought it a few months ago when I started surfing again after many years. However, I am much older (52) and weaker nowadays and realize that I need to have more of a longboard.

Trade? My 6'8" funboard for your ~8'-8'6" longboard/funboard

I have a beautiful 6'8" board that I'd like to trade for something a little longer (but that would still fit inside my car).

I surfed for many years, but stopped about 12 years ago because of a health problem. I recently started up again (yay!) and bought this sweet used board from someone.

Rant - Japan's Nuclear Disaster Seen Through the Eyes of Local Surfers

We Are All Radioactive, a forthcoming documentary series, tells the story of one seaside community's efforts to rebuild in the wake of the 2011 disaster. Motoyoshi, a small town and surf spot about 100 miles from Fukushima, was devastated by the earthquake and tsunami, and now it's unclear how damaging the effects of the Fukushima meltdown could be.

Rant - Ocean Beach Master Plan, draft recommendations

I don't recall seeing this posted, and I don't find it anywhere on the site. This is from the SF Planning and Urban Research (SPUR) association, 10/29/2011. The next public meeting will be in February. My apologies if this has already been posted.
