Bolinas was very nice this morning. Median age in the water was 60, median vibe was "stoked". Lots of consistent waist-high sets coming through and a few old guys who really knew how to use them. Love that early Sunday crowd. I think I made a new friend or two.

It felt like someone took Bolinas, removed the surfers, transplanted it to the west side of San Francisco and sprinkled on a tiny bit of fog.

Bring the biggest thing you've got.

Marginal "surf" at SFOB. Didn't see but two other people out where I was and they didn't seem to be getting much either. Good bike ride tho!

Conditions were marginal but there were waves. Glad I brought something a little longer. Easy paddle. Even as the winds increased, people continued to come, which means it probably shaped up right as I left. Figures.

As we were leaving, some guy having a seizure rear-ended a car full of people at the stop light on Great Highway and kept on going, nearly running over some surfers in the process. Thanks Sticker for the correction. I just thought he was an asshole!

Brought the longest thing* I had and hit the middle from about 1:30PM till it more or less shut down at 3PM. Session was actually pretty good in the "number of waves ridden all the way to the beach" count. Low drama, low excitement. Looked a couple blocks in either direction and only saw one other guy out, so we pretty much had the thing to ourselves. I'm wrecked from a weekend at Kirkwood so I'm glad it was as mellow as it was.

Also it was bleak.
