A diver has captured a photograph of a great white shark approaching his camera with a toothy grin like that of Bruce, the terror of the 2003 film Finding Nemo.

The often haunting photographs in this collection were all taken by immensely talented Jacob Cockle who lives "for art, music and good tea".

This is a great picture of surfers riding a very large wave at Dungeons, Cape Town. The surfer in the middle of the picture has a perfect dancers form. He went on to plie twice before making a bottom turn.

This may not be the ride of the swell, but I challenge you to produce photographic evidence to the contrary :) Kudos to the unknown OB rider.

This is fantastic. A grizzly smoking a cigar, a great white, a machine gun and surfing all beautifully worked into one great image. It would look great as tattoo covering your entire back.

There have been some crazy rides submitted to the Oakley big wave awards. The winner is announced this Thursday.

This makes me laugh my ass off. I know it's old (from January 2008), but it's a classic. Two body boarders from Penzance, Cornwall kicking into a winter storm wave, producing supposedly 40-50' "faces".

A OB surfer got picked up by the Coast Guard on Saturday morning. Whoops. It sounds like some other guys got pushed north of seal rock by the currents.

Here's another picture of the big surf on Saturday. Crazy.
