I currently live in Southeastern France and travel in New Zealand, Morocco, Indonesia and throughout France taking pictures of what I feel surfing means to me. I surf and travel far from familiarity to catch this special feeling which helps me show what is impossible to describe with a few words. Photography is useful for that.

When you think of Greece, surfing is probably not the first thing that comes to mind. But with its 16,000 kms of coastline, more and more Greeks are stepping on board.

It was, as Richard Merz tells it, an enlightened mischievousness among the paradise dwellers that brought the water-skiing elephant to Richardson Bay. And it was the enemies of that laid-back enlightenment who drove the elephant out.

Will post more from different dates later to help keep stoke alive during this crap spell were going through. Sorry about the quality but conditions at this long stretch of beach can be difficult on my tele lens and sensor. Props to those who have it wired.

Pro snowboarders John and Eric Jackson hit the end of the road in Alaska as they catch some icy waves in Alaska with fellow pro snowboarder Travis Rice and big wave surfer Ian Walsh. Then it's back on the snow in costumes for the Slush Cup at the local snow resort.

Kepa Acero & the Adventure of Surfing

Years ago I watched an amazing commercial that had a photographer using a Phantom Camera in heavy surf. The camera was pulled out of the barrel of this wave and the footage was slowed down to nearly 10,000 FPS. I was so impressed with the Phantom camera’s ability that I decided to buy one. That is until I found out the price. It sells for nearly $100,000!
